John is relatively new to cycling. He was a rower for 7 years, racing both in high school and college. Wanting to try something new, he took up cycling during the spring of his junior year of college at Yale University. During his first year of racing, he learned the ropes and enjoyed some moderate success. The following year, with a full winter of training under his belt, he progressed quickly and is now a category 1 cyclist.
